Fine, muscular old Beech (Fagus sylvatica) on Cromarty Sutor, Black Isle, ScotlandOne of a line of Beech and Elm trees planted some 150+ years ago between fields on the Main Farm on the South Sutor above Cromarty. Sadly, most of these are now derelict, and some have been lost to gales in the last couple of decades. The current farmer doesn't seem interested in maintaining or replacing these, so I've been planting a few of my own.
